Creating Healthy Boundaries
Helka Casey, MSEd, LPCC-S, Employee Assistance Program

Boundaries are necessary for our well-being. They help us figure out where one person ends, and another person begins. Boundaries can help identify to ourselves and others what we are and are not comfortable with. In addition, clear boundaries can help us navigate how to interact with each other. However, all too often we struggle to create and manage boundaries for fear of a negative response or perception that we may be behaving selfishly or against a cultural norm. Boundaries are how we can honor ourselves, others, and protect our energy.

If you are interested in learning about or refreshing your boundary-setting skills, join me this August in a four-part Ohio State University Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Series “Boundaries for Well-Being.” We will review how both personal and professional boundaries can help reduce stress, burnout, and increase well-being. We'll explore types of boundaries, how to create and set them, and ways to communicate them (to ourselves and others).

Register in Link to Health: EAP Series: Boundaries for Well-Being, 8.3.23 to 8.24.23 at 11:30 a.m.
