This month, the OSU Health Plan wants to help you do more of what’s important to you, and our complimentary Health Coaching benefit can help. Health Coaches work with all sorts of people on a wide variety of health and wellness goals. Is Health Coaching for you? It might be if you can relate to any the following statements:
- “I know what to do, I just don’t, and I don’t know why.”
- “I can get started on a new routine, but I can’t seem to keep it going.”
- “I [moved / have a new job / had a baby / got injured] and I can’t do the same things I used to.”
- “My [doctor / therapist / dietitian] recommended a change I’m trying to implement.”
- “I’ve already done a lot of work to make a change, and now I’m trying to maintain it.”
- “I have a vision of my best self and I’m ready to start working on it.”
How can a Health Coach help? To borrow an explanation from Wellcoaches School of Coaching, “Health and well-being coaches are expert facilitators of mindset and behavior change that generates sustainable healthy lifestyles and foster well-being and thriving.”
Your team of OSU Health Plan Health Coaches are all Wellcoaches certified and part of the OSU community, working right here at the OSU Health Plan. Our mission is to help you do more of what’s important to you and your well-being, whether that’s increasing energy, reducing stress, improving biometric numbers, trying new things in nutrition and exercise, or simply doing more of what makes you happy. You tell us what you want to work on! We’ll provide the listening ear, motivational questions, encouragement, and accountability as you work on your goals.
Health Coaching is free to benefits-eligible faculty and staff as well as dependents over the age of 18 on the medical plan with employees. We offer individual and group coaching services.
