Ohio State Urgent Care: Now Seven locations
Tammy Mor, Senior Marketing Consultant, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center

With the opening of two new urgent care locations, Ohio State Health Plan members now have greater access to walk-in urgent care for minor to serious, non-life-threatening conditions that need immediate attention but aren’t serious enough to go to the emergency department.

Types of Ohio State Urgent Care

Staffed seven days a week by skilled nurse practitioners and physician assistants who can treat a variety of conditions, ranging from cough, sore throat and upper respiratory infections to burns, cuts, sprains and broken bones. Visits are billed at a primary care rate.

  • Advanced Urgent Care – four locations in Outpatient Care New Albany, Outpatient Care Dublin, East Hospital and Martha Morehouse Outpatient Care

An advanced level of care and diagnostics, led by emergency medicine physicians, giving you the expertise of a hospital emergency department but with shorter wait times and at a lower cost than the ED. Walk in seven days a week, for common and more serious, non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries like broken bones, abdominal pain and dehydration. Visits are billed at a specialist rate, not at an urgent care rate.

Specialized walk-in care for sports- and activity-related injuries that have occurred within the last two weeks. Care is provided weekdays by orthopedic physicians and advanced practice providers skilled in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal injuries like broken bones, dislocations, tendon ruptures and sprains. Visits are billed at a specialist rate, not at an urgent care rate.

Easy online scheduling

To secure an appointment at any of our urgent care locations, our new online scheduling tool makes it easy. Just tell us the reason for your visit, and we’ll help you schedule at the right urgent care location. Access via MyChart or as a guest through the Urgent Care web page.

Wait times available online

Should you choose to walk in for care, patients will be assigned an appointment time, subject to availability. Estimated wait times are available online for all of our urgent care locations to help guide your decision on where to go for care. But please note, the time is an estimate only and not a guarantee. Wait times will vary by location and can be influenced by many factors, including the sickness of our patients. However, the wait times at urgent care are typically shorter than at the emergency department.

An option for less urgent conditions

Same-Day Care appointments are available for common illnesses or when your primary care provider is not immediately available. Appointments are required. Schedule online for Outpatient Care Upper Arlington, Outpatient Care Worthington, Outpatient Care East or McCampbell Outpatient Care.
