The end of the year is upon us, and the holidays are quickly approaching. It's a time to slow down, reflect and spend time with family and friends. It's s also a great time to think about the goals you want to set in the New Year. Consider all ten dimensions of wellness when planning your health and wellness goals and intentions. The OSU Health Plan Health Coaching and Wellness teams are here to support and assist you on your journey.
As you begin to work on setting new goals, consider individual health coaching. The Health Coaching Team is available to help you set goals, inspire you to reach them, and hold you accountable.
In addition, the health coaching and wellness teams offer a variety of complimentary educational programs, physical activity programs, and group health coaching series to all benefits eligible and enrolled faculty and staff all year long.

- Now is the time to establish a relationship with a primary care physician. A yearly physical brings your care up to date and can provide guidance on reducing your risk for disease. Sign up for How to Talk to Your Doctor to learn ways to get involved in your health care decisions and how to make the most of your time in the doctor’s office.
- January is also a good time of year to schedule your Verified Biometric Screening and complete your Personal Health and Well-being Assessment (PHA).You can complete an on-campus screening to automatically receive credit for the verified biometric screening or you can have values submitted by your medical provider.
- Looking to take a break from alcohol? Register for the educational program Why Try Dry January: The Impact of Alcohol on Your Health. Health Coaches Amanda and Jessica will discuss how alcohol impacts our well-being and provide tips for cutting back in January and beyond!
- Looking for ways to strengthen your relationship? Join the 30-minute educational program After the Honeymoon: Conflict, a pathway to strengthen your relationship to learn tips to help you to better know and develop a long-term love with another person.
- Join Change Behavior, Change Your Life to learn simple strategies you can employ to begin taking small steps to create positive behavior change considering the six dimensions of wellness that impact your life: physical, emotional, social, spiritual, intellectual, and occupational.
- Looking to Increase your fruit and vegetable intake? Join this 30-minute webinar to discover ways to increase intake, cooking tips, and what to look for when selecting them at the store (fresh vs. frozen, organic vs. conventional).
- Need a short break and some motivation? Join our monthly series with the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) #MonthlyMotivation to learn how and why setting weekly intentions can inspire you, get you energized and motivate you to tackle your month with grace and purpose. - Looking to add more movement into your day? Join Health Coach Michael for Deskercise to engage in strength-training exercises from the comfort of your desk.
