Explore Work/Life Benefits Offered by the Ohio State EAP
Suzanne Vickers, LISW-S; Ohio State Employee Assistance Program

Did you know that there are work/life benefits you and your family can take advantage of in addition to the counseling benefit that the Ohio State Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers? Benefits-eligible staff, faculty, household members, children up to the age of 26, and parents and parents-in-law can access these benefits.

The Ohio State EAP provides complimentary 30-minute legal and financial consultations for your needs around budgeting, debt management, support around identity theft and prevention, planning your estate, developing a will, divorce and custody concerns, bankruptcy and more! There are online legal and financial resources on the EAP portal such as articles and videos to help you navigate your legal and financial concerns.

We also have locating services to help you find childcare, housing, transportation, adoption, educational opportunities, and pet care.

We recently launched some new work/life benefits!

  • Personal Assistance – a personal assistant can help you with travel needs, household errands, cleaning services, entertainment planning and more. The personal assistant is there to help you save time and manage your daily activities.
  • Medical Advocacy – If you or your loved one needs help navigating through the challenges of healthcare then this may be the assistance you need. A Medical Advocate is there to help manage the details of finding eldercare options, help in preparing for medical appointments, care transition, healthcare transportation and discharge planning.
  • Life Coaching – A life coach can help you to accomplish your goals, find your purpose, and improve life skills such as stress and time management.  A life coach is different from a counselor in that they will help you to navigate personal and professional goals such as communication skills and balancing the demands of work and home life whereas a counselor is there to help you heal and become more self-aware.
