Zipongo, available to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff as a service of Your Plan For Health powered by Virgin Pulse, is a digital nutrition profile with thousands of healthy recipes available.
When getting started with Zipongo, you can set your diet profile and choose your eating type. This will help Zipongo understand what your diet and nutrition are like and be prompted to recommend recipes to you based on your personal preferences and goals. If your goal is to make protein-rich foods in 30 minutes or less, Zipongo has you covered. If your goal is to find new ways to use your pressure cooker, you can also do that in Zipongo! You can mark your favorite recipes to save them to your digital cookbook, add ingredients to your grocery list, and you can even order the ingredients to be delivered to your home via Instacart – all through Zipongo.
Every Sunday, I plan meals and shop for groceries for my family. Using Zipongo has become routine in my meal planning. I like to make new and different meals each week that are healthy. With Zipongo, I know that the recipes I am browsing are healthy for my family and I can read comments from others who have made the meal to see what they thought. If I have chicken and a lemon in my kitchen already, I can search by ‘lemon and chicken’ and tons of recipes are provided that use both of those ingredients.
My favorite that I’ve made is the Lemon -Garlic Chicken Penne with Pesto and Spinach. It’s flavorful, high in protein, low in saturated fat, and a great meal to make for dinner and have a few lunches meal prepped for the week. Log in to Zipongo and search for it if you’re interested!
